I wanted to take a moment out of the normal broadcasting to do 2 things;
- Let you all in on some really exciting news, and
- Say Thank You.
But first some back story.
I’ve been blogging for over 10 years now (I know, right, 10 years! That’s a decade of words! It all started with LiveJournal – just like Facebook) and in that time I’ve done a lot of amazing things, talked about a lot of weird things and just generally had fun. In the past 5 years I’ve come to think of blogging as my hobby. You know, like train spotting, bird watching and stamp collecting.
At one stage there I had delusions of grandeur and daydreamed of being the next “big thing”. They quickly passed and I came back to reality. But I’ve always had a secret wish in the back of my mind that one day I would be able to generate just enough money from the blog that I could stay home and play with the internet all day.
Now that there’s a gnome Jnr on the scene my desire to be a stay-at-home-mum has become the most important thing to me so instead of wanting to stay home and play with the internet all day I now want to stay home and play with Junior all day.
Of course, I still want to come and hang out on the internet and see what all the cool kids are up to, but instead of hanging out for hours on end I’m having to squeeze it in between naps and bedtimes. As is always the way, it seems that when I just sit back and relax good things come along. In the past few weeks a few things have happened behind the scenes in relation to my little blog and, just like Big Kev, I’m excited.
By now I’m sure you wish I’d just cut to the chase right? Well here’s the exciting news:
As of January 2013 I will be a Target Australia Blogging Ambassador.
I know, right! How amazeballs is that! I adore Target and I’m so happy to have the opportunity to share with you all the amazing products and services that Target offer. It’s just so bloody exciting I can barely contain myself!
However, it does also herald with it a change to this place that I call (my internet) home. I’ve made the decision to start working with sponsors. I’m really excited about it. I never thought it would be possible, so to think that businesses and companies are wanting to work with me to share with you all the amazing things that are out there is awesome.
I know that there are mixed feelings about sponsorship and blogs but I want to assure you that GnomeAngel isn’t going to become an extension of TVSN or anything like that. I’m simply going to have some advertisements on the blog and blog about the same things I always did (only some of them will be from sponsors).
I won’t be opening the blog up to anyone or anything that I wouldn’t use or recommend in my normal course of life. I will also clearly label the posts that are sponsored so there will be no mistaking them. I won’t be compromising my opinions either; if something sucks arse I’ll be the first to tell you about it.
I love blogging and I absolutely adore the community that I’ve come to know and continue to know, but I also love my little man and I’d love to be able to stay home and be with him so to do that I need to look at ways of making a little bit extra on the side and I’m extremely blessed to have this as an option.
I like to think of the sponsorship as the vanilla ice-cream to the apple pie that is GnomeAngel. (And who doesn’t like apple pie and ice-cream, right?)
While this is all well and true, there’s one very important thing to the foundation of it all and that’s YOU!
I couldn’t do this without you, my lovely readers and comment leavers. Over the past 10 years you, my lovely readers, have continued to inspire me, encourage me, straight talk me and make me laugh. You are the entire reason this blog is able to help me provide for my family and I don’t ever want to forget that or have you think I don’t appreciate you all.
I appreciate you all – every.single.one!

I would like to thank you for brightening my days with your wonderful blogs. I haven’t been a long term follower but have really enjoyed reading about your Little Man since his birth (and before).
I even thought of you the other day when I was in our local florist shop and saw a little Santa Gnome. He was so cute that I just had to buy him! I’d post a pic but not sure how to do it here.
Hi Robyn! Thank you so much for your ultra kind words and for following along with our little family. It means the world to know you’re reading!
A santa gnome! Now that would be cute! Do you have Instagram or Photobucket? You could post a photo there and then link back here. (Plus if you have Instagram I can follow along with your life
)
Hope you have a fabulous and safe festive season!

I would like to say thank you to my wonderful man for all he does for our family. He works early, works late, works hard, and still comes home to help me with the kids and is such a wonderful father and partner. He also let’s me indulge in too much fabric buying with no complaints ever. I am thankful to him and for him.
Awww… this made me grin like a mad lady. I understand completely. We are lucky women to have such great men in our lives.
I hope you had a fabulous festive season!

I love it when your posts come up on my RSS reader – I read every one, although I’m not so good at commenting. But as this sounds like great news for you, I wanted to say CONGRATS on the sponsorship, and that more follow so that you can spend more time with your little man. I don’t think anyone who reads here regularly would think that you’d recommend something you didn’t like, and I love hearing about the things you’re doing, making and that you’ve found in the wilds of the internet
Wishing you a happy and productive 2013 xx
Hi Laura! Thank you so much for your wonderfully kind words and encouragement. It’s really awesome to know that there’s fabulous people out there that read about our little world. Thank you!
I hope you had an amazing and safe festive season!

Dear Angie… I am thrilled and couldn’t be any happier for you and your family! Truly, this is a huge step and it confirms that when you do what you love and do it with passion, only good things can come along. Congratulations on this huge step!
I want to thank my 2nd grade school teacher, Alda Montas, who was sensitive to the shyness and lack of confidence I developed from being around bullies.

How exciting for you, huge congratulations.
I hope this doesn’t sound too sucky or anything of the sort, and I hope you understand where I’m coming from. Hubs & I were talking only this morning of how thankful we are for the specialist who helped us on our way to becoming parents to our now number 3. We are again thinking of partaking in the fun that is ivf in hope of another miracle bub and our dr has now retired. This man has made the biggest impact on our life and for that we can not be more thankful…
Dude, I totally understand. TOTALLY! I will be sending our Doctor a Thank You card every year for the Little Man’s birthday and then a Christmas Card. I cannot thank him enough for helping us achieve our miracle.
We’re now starting to think about returning for another shot and I wouldn’t be doing it so soon if it wasn’t for how amazing he was. So I completely understand! Completely!
I hope you and your family had a wonderful and safe festive season!

i would like to say thank you to you and all the bloggers i follow for giving me prespective…make me realise I am not the craziest mom, not the most weird friend, not the world most awfull cook or the strangest thinking person ever… for creating an alternative world in which actual familiarity is over rated, in which you can relate to people you have never met and probably never will in far away places and with similar concerns. Isn’t it just grand?
Amen! What a great comment. Thank you for articulating why I love the bloggers out there so much. It is one of the best things in the world! It is very grand!
I hope you had a wonderful and safe festive season!
