Craft Alive and I would like to share a little secret with you…

Anyone who knows me knows how hard it is for me to keep a secret. I’m the person who finds an awesome birthday gift two months out from the birthday and can’t keep it hidden and so gives it to the person weeks before their birthday and then has to go out and buy another gift for the actual event. I can’t help it. Trying to keep a secret inside me is like trying to keep my top button of my jeans done up after eating Christmas lunch; it’s never gonna happen!ย But, over the past few months I’ve been keeping a couple of HUGE secrets that I’ve been dying to tell you all about and today I get to share one of them and it’s pretty amazeballs.ย
Are you ready…
I’m going to be at Craft Alive in Bendigo thisย June. That in itself is pretty huge cause I love me a great craft show and this is going to be a great craft show. The kicker… I’m going to be there to host Craft Alive‘s first ever Meet Up on Saturday 27th June.
What’s a Meet Up I hear you ask, well it’s awesome that’s what it is. A Meet Up is an event where you can go and meet all the wonderful people you interact with online and put a person to the account. In this case you’re also going to get an amazing show bag filled with all sorts of exclusive treats from Craft Alive and the wonderful Craft Alive Exhibitorsย (and it includes a multi-day pass so you can come back to the event as much as you want to!). You’re also going to get a delicious lunch and afternoon tea, some funย classes, exclusive swag ย and a VIP guided tour of the Craft Aliveย event all while having fun in person with the people you normally have fun with virtually.
Theย Meet Up kicks off at 11am on Saturday, lunch is at 12:30pm and then we’ve got an afternoon of tours, classes and crafty happy hour. Theย Meet Up will wind up at 4pm which will give you an hour to shop till you drop with the 60+ various Exhibitors and check out some of the amazing craft experiences on offer.
Then on Sunday 28th June I’m going to be helping Craft Aliveย break the world record for the most people crocheting in one place at one time. Lucky for me I’ve got some experience in hooking. (Ok, that didn’t come out the way I thought it would…) I’m really excited about this world record and I’m already thinking about what crochet project I can start now to finish at the eventย as a memento of the day.
All of that on it’s own is fabulous, butย Craft Aliveย has some more amazing things to announce for those that want to come to the Meet Up and I can’t wait to share those treats over the coming weeks.
Luckily for me I’m not going alone. Gemma (of Pretty Bobbins) is coming with me!!! Which is fabulous because it means we’re going to do another road trip together so we’ll be in fine form by the time we get to Bendigo. I’m so looking forward to having this adventure withย Gemma; she’s got such great talent and she’s so eager to share her knowledge and encouragement so I just know she’s going to be making friends all over Bendigo.ย We’re both going to be bringing some of our favourite quilts with us so you can all get a chance to fondle what you’d normally only get to see on a screen.
So, who’s coming to Bendigo?

Hi, I have just realised that I met you last Friday night. I am the old lady with the purple hair! So sorry the pennies didn’t drop while I was there and then I could have told you how much I enjoy your blog etc. in person. Wasn’t it an inspiring lecture, made me want to stay on for the weekend. Anyhow, keep up the good work and enthusiasm, I am sure you are giving lots quilters inspiration. Regards Pamela
Hello from Ballarat, Angie – I purchased my meet-up ticket yesterday and am so looking forward to meeting you and Gemma and everyone at my first IG event. Thanks so much for organising this. Cheers, Jan
Hi Angie,

Cheers

Hi, I live near Bendigo and am very keen to get to this event. What is the link or hashtag thingy to interact with people beforehand? You mentioned an instagram group? Cheers Kathryn
Hi Kathryn! We’d love to see you! Use the hashtag #craftalivemeetup and hopefully people will start connecting and chatting before the event. There’s a Facebook Event for the Bendigo Event – click here to join. Hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else. ๐
Aw man, Bendigo is a bit of a stretch from Brisbane. I wish I could go…although I am no good at hooking at all. (ha, I’m going to feel great all day because I got to use that phrase!). It sounds like a blast and I hope you both have a great time!
Yeah, it is… but you never know what could happen between now and then! ๐ Trying to be positive! LOL You’d be surprised how many ways you can work “hooking” into a sentence. ๐
i couldn’t make it to the ballarat one so really want to get to Bendigo! This will just make it even more fun.
Question though : where do I buy / sign up for the meet up ? The ticket page just has standard entry tickets….
Oh Anne, that’s a fabulous question and one I will have to find out the answer for. I’ll be in touch shortly! ๐
Hi Anne – you can pre-purhcase your tickets by clicking here. Or if that doesn’t work I’ve included the link in the post now too. ๐ Hope to see you there!!!
