Today is Census Day in Australia and I’m a little nerdy excited about it. In the lead up to the Census the Australian Bureau of Statistics has been sharing interesting information about the census via their twitter account; @2011census. It’s been an absolute cack and one of the best uses for a twitter account by a government agency that I’ve ever seen.
They’ve also put together a great interactive presentation that allows you to have a look at your world through census data. You can check it out here. I was totally amused and intrigued by the information that it shared about my world.
I can’t wait to complete the census tonight. I think it appeals to the meme junkie in me. Either way, it’s an important tool in helping the government provide for our nation. Not to mention all the other companies that use the information to tailor their services to our needs.

i wanted to comment on “more Bang for your Buck” but it wouldn’t let me? I am computer challenged on many levels except add to shopping cart and Pay Now!
I’ve just recently subscribed to your posts and I love that you’ve just F Bombed all over my screen…and rightly so…I’m not very PC and haven’t set up a blog yet because of it and the comdemnation (no friends) that may follow LOL.
The pregnancy kid thing sucks and I’m sorry it’s taking so long, you could have one of mine but now after investing so much time and money and food (3 boys) into them I’m loathe to give them away just when they have started becoming humans…18,13 and 12…more actual words and fewer grunts, slight improvement on the smell factor too!

Oh goodness, I’m so sorry. Normally I try not to post like I am in real life (I’m very fluent in French!) but I was a little miffed. Thanks for subscribing to the blog. I hope you like it.
I don’t think anyone can be PC totally. We’re only human after all. I try, but this is my space and therefore it’s my rules. Well, at least that’s how I justify it to myself! I would totally recommend blogging. I’ve met so many wonderful people (completely outweighs the occasional nutter!). If you wanted to get a “taste” of blogging I would totally recommend somewhere like LiveJournal. (It’s where I started out.) You can control the access to it so you don’t have to worry about any backlash.

I wouldn’t be giving them up either after investing so much in them. They’re draining little things! I’m sure our journey will sort itself out in whatever way it’s supposed to eventually, just every so often I lose my mind a little and have a rant.
